Winter Engagement Photos | Eagle Point Resort

When Samantha and Austin reached out, they knew exactly where they wanted to have their engagement photos taken—Eagle Point Resort. It is one of their favorite places to go as a couple and they even got engaged there so it holds a special place in their hearts.

My husband and I drove down to Beaver, UT that afternoon and made it to Eagle Point Resort a few hours before sunset so we could have enough time to document Samantha and Austin’s engagement photos. Prior to heading up the canyon, we stopped in at the Creamery in Beaver. It had such a fun, modern farm feel to it. The place is filled with the cutest things and they are best known for their ice cream.

Samantha and Austin were so sweet and it was a pleasure to create with them!Their outfits fit so perfectly with the snowy weather and we had the best time running around in the snow together. One reason why this location is perfect for engagement photos is that it is so desolate prior to the ski resort opening up. We went up on a Saturday and there were hardly any people up there so it was a very private location for engagement pictures. This was nice because engagement photos can be very vulnerable, so the extra privacy helped to make it a more intimate experience.

Samantha and Austin are originally from Las Vegas, NV so we met in the middle of their shoot. They stayed up in a cabin really close to where we were taking photos so it was a fun little weekend getaway for them. Despite the snow, we managed to stay quite warm for the majority of the shoot. The snow also looked so pretty with Samantha’s red hair.

You could have winter engagement photos, too! They are so fun and such a playful time, especially with the snow! Another fun idea during your snowy engagement pictures is to bring sleds and go sledding down little bunny hills! That would be a fun and connective memory for you and your lover to share.

Winter photoshoots can be such a fun time if you are dressed properly! If you are planning on having a snow session, it is a good idea to bring hats, scarves, and gloves. Gloves can keep your hands warm if you are planning on having a mini snowball fight, or if you are sledding. Another fun prop to bring for winter sessions is sleds. You and your significant other could race each other down the hill on your sleds which could make for really cute photos! Also, be sure to wear lots of layers. The layers will help to keep you warm over your photoshoot.
